The Canada-Michigan Relationship: An Address by Gretchen Whitmer, Governor of Michigan

The American Chamber of Commerce in Canada (AmCham Canada) on October 1, 2025 was honoured to co-host a luncheon for Gretchen Whitmer, Governor of Michigan with The Empire Club of Canada.

In her address, Governor Whitmer powerfully underscored the deep bilateral relationship between our nations, and her remarks served as a compelling call for strengthened cross-border collaboration. She clearly highlighted the opportunities that come from building on our deep economic ties. 

Following the luncheon, AmCham Canada hosted a roundtable with Canadian business leaders who are operating and investing in Michigan, highlighting the value of operating in both countries.

It was an excellent oportunity to hear from a great advocate for the strong cross-border partnership that Canada and the United States share!
